Bolero
Written as a ballet, inspired by a visit to a factory. Ravel didn’t seem to think much of the piece, yet it’s estimated to have generated upwards of 57mil in royalties since 1960. A simple melody and rhythm that continues to build throughout the piece, ending with a triumphant fanfare. I had the opportunity to play flute in this piece with the St. Olaf College orchestra. A memorable experience.
Unframed archival prints arrive with a border to allow for framing. Printed in the USA.
